With the vision of becoming the preeminent hub for journalism education by 2017 in mind, ACFJ drew up its plans for 2013 and milestones up to 2017 in an annual review and planning workshop at Faber Hall, Ateneo de Manila University, on January 11 -12.
Among the plans set for 2013 are a review of all its academic programs, the continuation of outreach programs in Aurora province and in Mindanao, and management and faculty development programs. These projects carry out the ACFJ strategic thrusts identified last year, namely, marketing, organization, and curriculum reviews.
Thirteen participants, composed of ACFJ management, faculty and administrative staff, attended the two-day workshop. Key activities included a review of 2012 commitments and initiatives and a SWOT analysis which took off from the highlights of the July 2012 strategic planning workshop.
The initial results of a management audit led by Kitty Dulay of Ateneo’s Department of Psychology were also presented.
Cezar Bagadion, lead officer for strategic learning and organization development solutions at Verite Southeast Asia, was the workshop facilitator.
