Do you have a documentary playing in your mind but you just don’t know how to begin? Are you raring to tell a story with video and need just a little nudge to get started?
Join ACFJ’s workshop “Video documentary on a smartphone” and unleash the inner filmmaker in you.
At the daylong workshop to be held on Saturday, June 23, you’ll learn about the basics of documentary production and how to make the most of your smartphone for this purpose.
Veteran television producer JM Nualla will be your mentor and guide, as he discusses story ideas and elements, story structure, and the production process.
JM is currently news producer for CNN Philippines. He previously worked for GMA News and Public Affairs and was part of the team behind the series Biyaheng Totoo that won, among other awards, the Silver Medal at the New York Festivals and the Red Cross Award for Humanitarian Reporting.
JM is also part of what he calls a “passion project” called SubSelfie.com, an online magazine for Filipino millenials, which has been producing documentaries and informational videos. He also teaches scriptwriting and documentary production at iAcademy in Makati.
The workshop will be held at the ACFJ classroom, CTC 318, Ateneo de Manila University, Katipunan Ave., Quezon City from 9 am to 4 pm, on Saturday, June 23. For fees and other information, please call Mae Marbella at 426 6001 loc. 5294 or email ACFJ at acfj.soss@ateneo.edu
