Students of the MA in Journalism program for the first semester of school years 2011-2012 begin their on-campus session at the Ateneo de Manila University on 12 July 2011.
The three-day session will focus on media ethics with Chay Hofileña, Philippine journalist, author, and a regular contributor to the Newsbreak magazine in the Philippines, as its lecturer.
A total of 17 students are enrolled in the course including 9 ACFJ fellows from Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines and Vietnam.
Aside from the on-campus session, the students most of whom are working journalists attend the on-line session that began on 27 June 2011.
Other courses covered for the first semester of the MA Journalism program cover media law, advanced reporting and writing, international reporting, media and politics, exploring new media (fundamentals of multimedia journalism) and a master’s project.
