Quezon City, 7 Jan 2012. The third-leg of the chat series “Social Media for Social Change,” sponsored by Move.PH, will be held at the Far Eastern University (FEU) Auditorium on 12 Jan 2012, Thursday, from 8am to 12 noon. Big names in broadcast journalism such as Maria Ressa, former CNN Jakarta bureau chief, Cheche Lazaro of Probe, and Veronica Pedrosa of Al Jazeera English will be present in the event.
Move.PH, Rappler.com’s online citizen journalism arm, commenced the chat series in Baguio City in Sep 2011, and had its second leg in Davao in Nov 2011. Each event was attended by 500 people, mostly students.
The event to be held in Manila will be attended not only be students, but other members of the academe, NGOs, members of the diplomatic community and the media are also expected to attend. The whole event will be livestreamed, and will be seen at Rappler’s website, www.rappler.com.
