KY Pung, formerly of The Star (Malaysia), has been elected president of the Society of Asian Journalists (SAJ) during its business meeting last month in Jogjakarta, Indonesia. He replaces Edi Utama, Antara senior editor. Also elected were: vice President, Mon Mon Myat, Burma; secretary, Susan Tam, Malaysia; treasurer, Bert Apostol; information officer, Josh Villanueva. It was also decided during the meeting that the 8th Annual Forum will be held in Penang, Malaysia.
