MAJ students take up media law and advanced reporting

The on-campus session in contemporary issues on media law under the MA in Journalism program begins today at the Ateneo de Manila University. Atty. Pablito A. Perez, vice dean, College of Law, San Beda College, Philippines, handles media law, one of six core courses MA journalism students need to take up.

 

Fourteen students mostly working journalists from Cambodia, China, Germany, Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines and United Kingdom including 10 ACFJ fellows are enrolled in the course.

 

The on-campus session will be for four days.

 

On 18 July 2011, these students will attend another course, advanced reporting and writing, which Prof. Kim Kierans,, vice president of the University of King’s College, Halifax, Canada, will teach. They will be joined by another enrollee from the Philippines.

 

Both courses use the blended learning method that covers both online and on-campus sessions.
