Learning principles and applications of investigative reporting

Quezon City, 21 November 2011. An Investigative Reporting module (Journ 210) is now offered to MA in Journalism students enrolled during the second semester, school year 2011-2012.

 

The course, which began  on 7 November 2011, examines theories, principles and practices of investigative journalism, and explores the various ethical and practical issues related to these.

 

It includes actual investigation by students of events/issues concerning a country or countries in Asia, using investigative tools and techniques learned in class.

 

Luz Rimban, a trustee of Vera Files, teaches the course. An MA in Journalism alumna (2007), she is one of six veteran Filipino journalists, who is taking a deeper look into current Philippine issues. Their articles are published under Vera Files.
