[CALL FOR APPLICATIONS] ACFJ's DVJ program is acce [CALL FOR APPLICATIONS]
ACFJ's DVJ program is accepting applications for 2021.

The program is open to practicing Asian photojournalists and journalists and offers them a wider theoretical and practical perspective on visual storytelling for news events.

The DVJ is a blended learning course, which means part of it is done online, part on-campus. It is composed of five courses: Fundamentals of Visual Journalism, Visual Storytelling/Literacy, Journalistic Writing for Multimedia, Multimedia Platform Practices, Final Portfolio and Publication. Near the end of the program is the on-campus session where students gather face-to-face for the portfolio presentation that caps the program.

Practicing journalists are eligible for fellowships offered by the KAS Media Programme Asia. Go to http://adenauer.careers/ for more information on the fellowship. Deadline for Adenauer Fellowship application is on December 31 2020

The Asian Center for Journalism at the Ateneo de M The Asian Center for Journalism at the Ateneo de Manila University and Internews' Earth Journalism Network invite applications to the ACFJ-EJN Fellowships on Climate Change.

The fellowships are part of the project "Collab on Climate Change" which brings together journalists and nongovernment organizations to collaborate on multimedia stories about climate change that will be published in late 2021.

An online certificate course with lecturers from the Ateneo de Manila University and EJN serving as trainors will kick off the fellowships, which also include story grants for an in-depth or investigative report the journalist and NGO person must work on together.

The project aims to improve journalists' capacity to report on climate change by grounding their knowledge on science and by fostering collaboration with NGO which have the expertise and experience advocating environmental issues. Selection will be competitive. Journalists must submit work samples, preferably on environmental issues, and the teams must submit story proposals of substance that are doable within the time frame.

The fellowship is intended mainly for Filipino journalists but a few slots will be set aside for other Asian journalists. Interested applicants may email ACFJ at acfj.soss@ateneo.edu. Deadline for submission of applications is Jan. 30, 2021.
