Applications for admission to the 2014 Diploma in Photojournalism are being accepted until Wednesday, 15 January 2014. Admission is limited to 12 students.
The Diploma in Photojournalism is a five-course blended learning program that provides comprehensive university-based training primarily to working photojournalists, journalists and editors. Three courses are fully online, namely, Principles and Ethics of Photojournalism, Visual Literacy for Photojournalists, and Storytelling: Newswriting for Photojournalists. Two others — Single and Moving Image and Portfolio Development and Publishing — are hybrid courses with the conventional classroom classes taking place at Ateneo’s Loyola campus in Quezon City. Students build a portfolio as a capstone project.
The program, started in 2006, has been jointly designed by ACFJ and World Press Photo, the Amsterdam-based media NGO.
Since its launch, 79 journalists from eight Asian countries have completed the program.
